In the Desktop app (Version 2.5.0 (1.2.27) Lütispitz) on Linux, I see no way to save/export.
On the phone itself, the only thing I found is to
- manually do an encrypted .zip backup to the phone itself. (I need to set a password for the .zip file)
- I can then copy that to my desktop (using AirDroid; maybe there is a better way?)
- 7z is able to unzip the file when given the password defined previously.
The resulting files are then indeed unencrypted. But they would then need processing to become usable (add extensions to media files, convert the .csv to something readable, etc.).
Is there a better way which I have missed? Or is that really the only way to export the conversations and media files?
If it's the only way, did someone already write a script to process these files?
