Threema not working- Android/Desktop 2.0 beta

I cannot connect to threema, red line at the top is constant.

Rebooting phone, threema, WiFi did not help. Clearing cache did not.

Both android version and the desktop 2.0 version.

My internet is working fine, WiFi as well.

I have tested with VPN and it sill will not connect.

Threema status web page report all fine (https://status.threema.ch/)

How can I test if it is issue with my ISP? Or maybe blocked in my country?

Any help would be appreciated!

It seems the Threema servers have been down since the late morning. See AllesStörungen https://xn--allestrungen-9ib.de/stoerung/threema/

Wouldn't it be nice to find some kind of status page on the Threema website...?

Threema System Status

There is this but it does not show any issues so it is useless it seems.

I have confirmed with few friends and they have same issue. They are in same state, so it might not be global.

Ich denke da an eine Statusseite auf der Threema Website, wo wir Nutzer zeitnah über Ausfälle informiert werden, falls du Probleme vorhanden sein sollten. Das hilft natürlich nicht, wenn andere Gründe/Störungen vorliegen. Aber die Karte bei AllesStörungen erfasst ja nur die tatsächlichen Nutzermeldungen.

I am confused, link I provided in my previous post IS on Threema website and is controlled/owned by Threema and should show issues with their infrastructure but apparently it does not.

So this should be exactly what you are looking for albeit broken.

You link provides user data which is in this case more accurate than Threma's own status webpage.

Thanks for fixing it. It would be nice that you web page for threema status reflects such issues

The status page was updated (you can see that it currently says "Recovered on Oct. 25th 2025 16:15 UTC" for the Messaging section), just not from the beginning. It is updated as soon as we confirm an incident. (Per definition, our status page must be outside our main infrastructure and not too tightly integrated, because otherwise an outage of our infrastructure could also break the status page. That's why a manual action is always involved after we are being alerted.)
