Threema Desktop for Linux is currently distributed as *,rpm or *.deb package. Within the Linux ecosystem, the package format flatpak (see https://flatpak.org/) is gaining more and more popularity. It is a good cross-distribution deployment option and thus used by more and more distros as a replacement for classic software delivery through specific rpm or deb packages (see https://distrowatch.com).
There is already a community-maintained Threema flatpack which is e.g. presented automatically on SUSE systems:
But this version is outdated. Threema GmbH should officially provide a current flatpack installation which could be a replacement for deb/rpm in the middle run. This would also solve dependency problems as they currently can be seen with the 1.2.43 rpm package (it lacks a required dependency with libdrm).
