Hallo zusammen,
- but no remedy so far.
Von Apple gab es stets nur nutzlose Hilfeseitenartikel aka "Make sure you have your push notifications turned on").
Mit liebem Dank,
Sahil
Meine 1. Anfrage an support:
Hi,
I read your FAQ etc.
The problem I have: Push-notifications all of a sudden so not work with Threema. iOS is
configured to allow them.
I initially had the same problem (only!) with WhatsApp, but with the updated version it
vanished there. Now, with Threema, I was hoping for the same with the version update which
arrived yesterday. But the reinstall did not cause the notifications to be activated
again.
Restarting etc. have been done numerous times. And I want to avoid reinstalling Threema as
described with your webpage. Do you have any other remedy how I can reinstate Push
notifications any other way? Something seems to be wrong with Threema running on my iOS
here.
Thanks, and regards,
Sahil

Thank you for getting back to us.
Unfortunately, no incoming push notifications were logged. This typically means that iOS
reports an incorrect push notification token to us, which in turn means that the push
notifications we send to your device are dropped by Apple. This is an issue in iOS 14 and
there is nothing we can do about it.
Please perform the following steps to troubleshoot problems with push notifications
(and/or if you’re having trouble re-establishing a connection to Threema Web) on iOS:
• Go to iPhone Settings > Notifications > Threema. Ensure that badges, alerts and sounds
are turned on.
• Turn off your phone.
• Turn your phone back on.
• Open Threema so it can re-negotiate push notifications with the server.
• Push notifications should now be working.
• If only a certain contact is affected by the push issue, please make sure that push
notifications for the contact in question are not disabled (navigate to the contact
details, scroll down, and turn “No push notifications” off if this setting is turned on).
Also make sure you're not connected to a Wi-Fi network that blocks the ports that Apple
uses for push notifications (try turning off Wi-Fi to see if this makes push notifications
work).
If you still cannot receive push notifications even after following the steps above, try
deleting and reinstalling the app from the App Store as a last resort (you will not be
charged again):
• Delete Threema from your device
• Turn off your phone and turn it back on.
• Go to iPhone Settings > General > Date & Time. Set the date at least two days into the
future. If you have the option “Set automatically” enabled, you need to deactivate it
first before settings the date.
• Turn off your phone and turn it back on.
• Install Threema again from the App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/threema/id578665578. (You will not be charged again).
• Open Threema so it can re-negotiate push notifications with the server.
• Push notifications should now be working.
• Set the date back to the actual date in Phone Settings > General > Date & Time and
activate “Set automatically”.
By reinstalling, the so-called push token that the iOS system generates for the app is
recreated. Your Threema ID will be retained, contacts can be restored using Threema Safe,
but messages will be lost.
Please not that the delivery of push notifications has to be done through the APNS service
from Apple. Threema can not influence the reliability of this service and can not solve
any issues with APNS. Issues that you notice with push notifications in Threema can be
caused by the APNS service.
We are happy to assist you in case there remain any unresolved issues.
